What is "Pink Walk for Breast Health"?

"Pink Walk for Breast Health" ("Pink Walk") is the flagship annual fundraising walkathon of the Hong Kong Breast Cancer Foundation (HKBCF). It aims at raising funds for the HKBCF to continue our work to mitigate the threat of breast cancer to the local community through education, patient support, research and advocacy. I/We plan to join "Pink Walk", which category should I/we register?

The four categories for "Pink Walk" are "Individual", "Team", "Organisation / Corporate" and "School".  Each participant should fulfill the requirement of "minimum donation per participant" of the category he/she belongs to. For more details, please refer to Participant Category.

 

If your team wish to register as a school team, your team should have at least 20 participants, and all team members should be students, teachers, or parents from a full-time / part-time education institute. We may request you to present related documents for verification.

How to register?

You can register and donate through our online enrolment system.

You can also fill in and return the enrolment form together with the donations to us.

 

We recommend participants to register and donate through our online enrolment system. All participants who register through our online enrolment system will own their unique fundraising links, while team leaders will own their teams' recruitment links and fundraising links. Participants are welcome to share their links to invite friends and families to join/support their teams by clicking the links. Participants may also login to their own accounts to browse or edit their enrolment details, and to review other information such as registration status of team members, total fundraising amount, etc.

 

Please note: All participants (including team members) enrolled via our online platform are required to register their own accounts.

What are the differences between online enrolment and paper enrolment?

Enrolment confirmation

All participants will receive auto-generated confirmation emails once successfully registered.

Team leaders will be notified by email for enrolment confirmation after the enrolment deadline. Team leaders should inform their teammates about the event details.

Teammates recruitment Participants could join a team and donate via its designated link. Team leaders do not need to consolidate all information before submission. Team leaders are required to consolidate all enrolment details and donations before submission.
Change of contact information Participants could login their own accounts to review and edit. Participants have to inform the HKBCF by email or phone.
Collection of donation receipts

The HKBCF will post donation receipts directly according to postal addresses provided by participants and donors. Team leaders do not need to distribute receipts to team members and supporters.

Team leaders are responsible for distribution of donation receipts to team members and supporters.

Yes. You may donate through our website (via PayPal online payment system) by using your credit card.

 

You may also fill in and return the enrolment form together with your donation. Please remember to tick the box "I/We will not participate in the event" on your form.

I/We belong to a "team", how should I/we choose our registration method?

If you and your friends/families own credit cards and feel comfortable to donate online (via PayPal online payment system), online registration would be more convenient for you.

 

If you are not sure if your friends/families own credit cards or feel comfortatble to donate online, you may consider to register by submitting paper enrolment form.

We belong to an "organisation / corporate / large team", how should we choose our registration method?

We encourage all organisation / corporate / large teams to register through our online enrolment system.

 

Parts of the settings could be customised according to different needs of each team. Please email to pinkwalk@hkbcf.org, or call us at 3143-7371/3143-7312. We are happy to know more about your team.

 

If you wish to create your account, please email to pinkwalk@hkbcf.org and state your organisation / company's name, contact person's name, phone number, email, and estimated team size in your email. We will contact you as soon as possible.

Q10
We registered online and recruited more team members than expected, can we extend our team size?

Yes. Please provide us your name, contact details, "Member ID" of team leader (please login your account and look at "Account Information”), and the quota you would like to reserve by email to pinkwalk@hkbcf.org or call us at 3143-7371 / 3143-7312. If the walking time slot which you choose still have vacancy, we will try to accommodate your request.

 

Please note: all fund raised from the event are not refundable (except oversubscription).

Q11
I/We have already registered “Pink Walk” online. My/Our friends say they would like to join my/our team and/or donate by crossed cheque or bank deposit. What should I/we do?

Please ask your team leader to download and fill in the paper enrolment form as usual, write down the team leader's "Member ID" on any space to indicate that this team has already enrolled, list out the name(s) and/or sponsorship details on the sponsorship page of the form, and return the form together with the crossed cheque or bank-in slip. Please keep a photocopy of the slip for your own record.

 

You may find your “Member ID” in your “Account Information” after login.

Please note: We will post donation receipts to team leaders. Team leaders should be responsible for the distribution of the receipts.

 

After we received the form and donations, we will input the details into your participant account. So you are still able to see the latest registration status of team members and total fundraising amount in your account.

 

Team members who registered by using this method will not receive individual confirmation emails from HKBCF. Team leaders should be responsible to inform your members about the event details.

We will create your participant account on our online enrolment system. Please invite your friends and families to join / donate by clicking your own fundraising links.

 

Please ask your team leader to send an email to pinkwalk@hkbcf.org. Please state “Changing registration method of Pink Walk 2019” at the subject of the email, and write down the team leader’s name (same as on the paper enrolment form), contact number in the email content. We will send you your username and password as soon as possible.
