“Happy 70th, Frances!” Concert 2017

To celebrate local Canto-pop diva Ms Frances YIP’s 70th birthday, the Hong Kong Chinese Orchestra (HKCO) organised a concert at the Queen Elizabeth Stadium (10th-12th November 2017). Frances celebrated her birthday with fans by singing popular tunes and golden oldies. The Hong Kong Breast Cancer Foundation (HKBCF) was the charity partner of the concert that the last concert (12th November 2017) was named charity show to support the work of the HKBCF. The HKBCF zone was dazzled with pink ribbon and every guest was offered a pink rose as souvenir.

 

Frances shared precious family pictures taken over the years with fans at the concert. She reminded the audience that breast cancer is curable and the most important thing is to keep healthy and stay happy. She has recovered from the disease for 21 years, is a perfect example.

After the intermission, Frances and principal conductor YAN Huichang and HKCO musicians threw roses into the audience.
